Hi Mr Gran
I'm not going to make it to school tomorrow or Thursday, only Friday. But my friend Britton said he would pick up my film for me tomorrow and I'll get it from him sometime this week since we live really close to each other.

1. Create 3 New Folders in your iphoto library which reflect your AP Portfolio. This way, we'll be able to follow and evaluate your progress. Create:

Quality
Breadth
Concentration

2. Choose another photo for your pattern series, this time utilizing that "tattoo" tutorial you followed to create patterns on different surfaces. Your photos on the red backgrounds could be a good place to start with this. Complete one this week. You might also want to mix other tutorials and create other layers of pattern in your final composition.

3. Perhaps your silhouette projects could be used for the 'boxed in' series that we discussed. Sketch out some designs for this.

4. Sketch out 2 narrative series. Follow the directions on the main page for all the students. One series will be a digital manipulation, the other series will be analog photography. Plan on starting to use your flex time for darkroom work.

Inspiration from Outside
A photography project that looks for inspiration elsewhere:

1. Choose an artist whose work inspires you.
2. Write a proposal for transforming the artist's work into a photograph series. Be sure to include in the proposal the following:

-What themes you see in their work that inspires you.
-How these themes relate to your life with regard to your artistic expression.
-How you will integrate some of the visual imagery from the artists work.
-What you will do that builds upon their work. In this way you will explain how you will enhance, transform, redefine, reconstruct, and/or subvert the artists' original designs and intentions.
-Explain how your use of the elements and principals of design reflect the artist's. You don't need to explain EACH of these, just enough to explain what we'll see in your photographs.

3.Provide 5 sketches of what your photos will look like.

Due: Friday, Nov. 14.
