A Network for Student Photographers

Please post your Photoshop tutorial ideas here by tuesday morning. You should write a paragraph explaining what you will need to do to take your photograph and which tutorial you will use to enhance it:

Questions you should answer in your paragraph:

1. How will you set up your shot?
2. What camera settings will you need for your shot and why?
3. How does your shot work with your tutorial idea?

In addition to posting your own ideas, do comment on other's ideas as well.

Don't forget to provide a link to your tutorial!

The Pro way to do this is to write the name of the tutorial, and then hyperlink it using the little button that looks like a chain on the top of the window in which you type your response.

Hey, im thinking - how about i just do this one? if you still think its too short, i'll just add in the drawing effect as well.
Also, can i take a picture from the web?

Reply to This

Sure you can do that- perhaps just add some photo adjustment tutorial to make it +25.

Can you take a picture from the web???? Hahahhahaha... oh *sniff*... you kill me, Brian! That's a good one ;)

No... but you can use the studio space we've set up in Mr. Holder's room if you want that black background.

I was planning to use this tutorial:
http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tutorials-effects/how-to-create-a...
Which I do by first taking a photo of someone flipping their hair with a short shutter speed, and then do the effects on the tutorial. It's one step short (24) but I think taking the shot might take some time?

About the tutorial-being-too-short thing,
I think I'm going to combine that tutorial and
http://bestphotoshoptutorials.net/2009/03/04/how-to-create-fire-lin...
so I'm going to make the original hair-flipping photo bigger and do fire lines twisting around the person as well.

Great Ying Ying! Try not to set anything on fire.

I plan on doing a severed arm, while i will be taking a picture of my own arm across a table (kinda like a slaughter environment), also i would like a butcher knife below my arm showing my arm has been cut. On my arm i will apply a tattoo on it so it would seem as if i was a prisoner. I will have a fairly high aperture and ISO because i want everything in focus, including the knife and the table. This will create "a prisoner being tortured" kind of effect.

I found a tutorial called How to Enhance Photos With a Pen Tablet. It takes a picture and makes it look sort of like a painting. I might either use a picture of an animal or use a portrait of my friend to make it look like a painting. I would use the portrait setting and take it outside with natural light (:

Hello.
My outline theme: Raining day.
I want to incorporate rain into the picture. With the artificial rain, i think i'm going to make the whole mood a little more darker. So i'm probably going to take a not-bright photo. It would probably be a landscape or somewhere that is too boring, or too quiet, needing more details in the picture. Because the tutorials requires an effect that lacks the contrast, i will adjust the photo's contrast clearly.

The camera settings will depend on my atmosphere.

Caren, the rain tutorial in korean looks good (although I'm assuming here, my Korean is kinda rusty...) but short as well. Can you find another tutorial to combine it with? Also be more specific about your photograph. What can happen in it that makes the presence of rain so important?
