I am going to try Apple in Disguise and Vibrant Photo Manipulations. I will take shots of color pencils, fruits, a close-up of apple, and a close-up of orange against a white background. I want the shutter speed to be relatively high because I want the pictures to come out focused and not blurry. To prevent my pictures from getting to dark, I'll make my aperture a little bit high. I'll set my ISO at either 400 or 800 because I'm going to take the pictures in a room, where it might be a little dark. For Apple in Disguise, I'll create an image of apple zipped inside an orange. For Vibrant photo Manipulation, it will look like colorful liquids are dripping from color pencils to fruits. For the final image, I'll combine the two pictures and make the zipped up apple part of the fruits in the other picture.

I like these tutorials together Bella! Can you perhaps think of something else you could surprise us with, besides the apple and orange? Can something else be disguised? Can something else 'melt' besides colored pencils?

The technique you can adapt from these tutorials, the ideas though, I'd like to come from you!

Theme: Vintage/Retro

I will be setting up my shot with a human subject showing her profile as the wind is blowing through her hair, undecided on which direction she will be looking at, but she isn't smiling, and the background behind her will be simple, hopefully a beach...her hand reaching to tuck her hair behind her ear, i will be using the effectOld Photo Effect

After this is done, I would want to make the sides look a bit ripped so I will use the tutorial of Burnt Parchment in order to achieve the sides I want for the photo. This would only be slightly used as I don't want the photo to be entirely burnt.

Theme: Fairytale

Then I want to experiment with the use of the stars in the tutorial That Last Minute Christmas Card I would want to try to create a twirl around the subjects face (same photo as mentioned earlier), or the neck, or just at the background.

Great Nuo Si! Try to take this against a solid background though- when compositing photos of someone/thing against another backdrop, quite often the lighting doesn't look right.

I was thinking of doing a Sin City effect with the high contrast black/white effect. Even though the tutorial has a close up of a face, I'm thinking of doing a scene with at least 2 subjects, and a light source from either a very low point, or high point to create a film-noir effect.

The other tutorial I was thinking of was the A Scanner Darkly effect, with the simplified color pallete and black out lines. The original photo will be a close up of a face, a social scene, or a scene with a very dark mood, with maybe 2 subjects max.

Hmm... not sure, the Scanner Darkly effect is an Adobe Illustrator tutorial, not photoshop. You sure you want to go there?

The Sin City one looks great! Although its kind of short. Perhaps if you did it as a series? Like a comic book?

The final image I want to achieve is sort of like a wallpaper. There is a person with headphones (with a hoodie and their head down so their face is dark) on the left side. I will take this photo with a plain background so it's easier to cut out on Photoshop. I want to use this effect on the person. Then from the headphone on the right, I want to add a glow/lens flare using part of this tutorial (the hands) or this tutorial (less dramatic). From the glow/lens flare, I will use this tutorial to make a glow/light streak that makes a "music line" (like the line of a heartbeat, but squiggly). In the bottom right hand corner or under the 'music line' I will put the words 'MUSIC' (and maybe a music note next to it) also with a glow effect (same tut as glow streaks) and a reflection.

For my photoshop tutorial I'm choosing to try out a vintage and effect. For my shot I'm going to attempt to capture some interesting tones that will make the vintage effect lomography really stand out. I'm going to use a low (probably the lowest) aperture and a fast shutter-speed to capture lots of color. This shot will work will with my tutorial idea because it will capture good tones, shadows, and focus in the photograph. Here is my photoshop tutorial

I'm fine with you following your interests with the lomo effects- go for it- but this tutorial will teach you nothing that you don't already know; and you need to have at least 25 steps. One tutorial that amounts to at least 25 steps, or a bunch of tutorials that add up to that.
