This is another example of lighting being very important in skateboard and basically any action shot. The time of day disables you from using a fast shutter speed to capture the moment in time perfectly without making it too dark. On-camera flashes, however, create a brigh… Continue

THis pic is so cool! The red light behind the wall of snow, the red jacket, and the red hat, combined with the shadows looks amazing. Also, the reflection of the red light on the sparkling snow looks awesome. The rider's hand's shadow combined with the rider's arm bring the viewer'… Continue

The contrast between the sky, the red shacks, and the almost colorless sand really adds to the attention-grabbing-factor. The composition looks great, with the heavy color and darkness of the shacks on the right, and the light, thin, colorless volleyball net on the left. The scene almost looks photoshopped or staged because of the lack of people. But accor… Continue

http://www.flickr.com/photos/grimpet/3268341154/?addedcomment=1#comment72157613545456413 When i saw this photo in the thumbnail version i immediately clicked on it. the amazing color of the water running captured my eye and i wanted to look at it closer. I wanted to figure out what was going on in the picture, how the blurry water became blurry. I think the kinda magic looking water brings our eye about the page quickly because it is somewhat of a similar texture to everything else. the rocks ar… Continue
