I think this picture on Flikr is more than amazing. It has great harmony. The lights on the left move your eyes around the page well and the black post-thing on the right is a nice attraction for the eyes. The picture therefore, has great movement. I honestly also think the picture has nice balance. The dark colored post seems heavy and balances out the lighter building. I also like the fact that it is taken (or edited) in black and white. I think it makes the picture a lot more simpler and less complex without changing the composition.

This picture is so neat. It seems like it is in black and white but it isn't with the yellow and the pure-ish white. The motion with the bus or what it is, then the fact it is turning giving it a perceptive makes it interesting and making you're eyes move around the page. Then the yellow lamp post give the solid black a contrast making the colors stand out.

You, know, what makes me wonder about this picture is whether or not this is black an white. The dominant direction in this picture is definitely horizontal which makes it very subtle and it corresponds with the emotion that the photographer is trying to get across to the viewer: calm, peaceful and tranquil. Texture in this picture is just like the title indicated "snake", it feels very smooth, fast and slippery. Unity is created because the movement of transport (electric train, or whatever it is), joins the background and the foreground, it also guides the viewers eyes smoothly around the photo. And yes, I also like very much the translucent effect that the train creates. It is an awesomely done long exposure, and it is extremely clear for such a long exposure too.

Okay so what I really love about the picture is that it doesn't seem fake. I mean so many photos - even the ones we take are always photoshopped which REALLY DRIVES ME NUTS. I mean yes, I see how its vital and can help enhance images and whatnot but I miss the era where photos really captured the truth, rather than now where it fabricates the "truth." So right, in this image I love all the wires and the odd streaks of light, cause it gives it so much more life than it would otherwise. And oh lordy, I love how the subway is moving quickly, and the gaps in between help make it kind of translucent. It's so bee-yoo-tiff-full....
