The title of this photo "winter blues" is perfect. My immediate impression of the mood of this photo was lonely and dreary. The combination of the single, bare tree and the unvibrant, washed out colors is what provoked my impression that the mood was lonely and dreary. I really like how only the tree and waterfront is in focus and the rest of the picture is blurred. It makes the viewer focus on the most interesting and standout part of this photo which is the tree. I also like the subtle cracks and water stains on the photo. Both of these effects add to the lonely and dreary mood. This photo follows the rule of thirds where the tree hits one of the thirds lines and makes for a stunning composition. I love how the top of sky compliments the blue water because they are of the same shade. I also love how only the top of the sky is lit blue where the middle is washed out because it makes an interesting pattern with blue water, white in the middle and the same color blue on the top of the sky. The reflections on the water create a nice texture in the waves along with the small bushes infront. The reflections also create a dark blue that brings out the standout part of the photo, the tree.

The depth of field is nice and allows the background to blur and change tones. The tree on the left of the photo is nice symbolism of the lonliness of winter.The mood is definitely lonely and sad. The washed ut colors mentioned help create this mood in this photo
