The first thing i noticed when i saw this was the perspective of the sheds all lined up perfectly. The contrast between the sky, the red shacks, and the almost colorless sand really adds to the attention-grabbing-factor. The composition looks great, with the heavy color and darkness of the shacks on the right, and the light, thin, colorless volleyball net on the left. The scene almost looks photoshopped or staged because of the lack of people. But according to the caption, the photographer and his friend had the whole beach to themselves.

I really like this picture due to its contrast in "filling" in two sides of the picture. On one side there is virtually nothing while on the other has quite a few objects. I also like the repetition and the perspective included in the image. The columns and its shadows both both indicate the presence of perspective as well as a vanishing point in the horizon. The inclusion of a vanishing point in the horizon enforce the idea of vast emptiness in this image. The repetition simply helps with adding content as well as improving the composition on the right side of the image.
