This is a very similar type photo to the previous one and it is by the same author. Yet, despite some of the similarities, the differences still struck me as impressive. Probably the most discernible different aspect is the color. The orange splash one mainly contained white as the background color so that the orange colors could easily stand out. In this one, black is the dominating color, while the overall blue hue allowed the ice cubes and the glass of water to easily stand of the picture. The feelings conveyed to the two colors are also considered to be opposites. On one hand, the orange with white create a sense of purity, joyfulness and warmth; while on the other hand, the blue with black feels very cold, chilly, lonely and monotonous. I suppose this is the right message to give when ice is the main subject. A smooth and slippery texture is predominant in here due to aspects of the picture such as: The awesome and fluid shape that the splash forms, the glass on which the ice rests as well as the ice and the glass of water. In terms of size, although the entire glass is larger than the pile of ice, the content of both subjects are of equal size. I consider the top part of the glass, as the part where all the weight and content is found on while in the pile of ice cube, content is found all over it. Due to these reasons, the size of the pile of ice cubes is similar to that of the top of the glass. Repetition is found with the three ice cubes. Like the other image, this one also contains a substantial amount of reflection that gives the image its strength. For instance there are reflections of the ice cubes and of the many droplets resulting from the splash. The stop motion in this image is also very well done and it has got a high degree of detail. All in all, this is an exemplar picture of water splashes.
