I Miss My Dog.

Wow, I keep getting images for which I cannot copy the image address. Once again, for this image, it was the color that caught my eye. The blue hue was next on the rainbow, so I guess it only follows that next photo I choose would be blue. Especially in light of the fact that my photo project is all about colors - the blue in this photo - and everyday (or in my case everyday local shanghainese-y life) - the subway in this photo.
Anyhow. This photo for me was at first about the colors. The blue and the yellow go really nicely together, one cold, one warm. But it was actually the odd perspective and subject that caught my attention as I continued to study it. I mean, I never though dogs were allowed in the metro. And also, the vanishing point is at the dog, so your eye doesn't exactly travel away from it, especially since it it emphasized with the bright lighting - missing from most everywhere else in the photograph. At it seems to be looking up towards the dog, possibly as a way of emphasizing the blue-ness (forgive the lameness) of the dog? The gloom of the subway?
The sadness of it all reminded me of my dog, who was shipped off to Singapore by my evil father, and that in turn made me sad about goodbyes in general which now makes me sad about graduating. Aiyo...
