I just realized how odd it may seem that I can post these so quickly. I copy-pasted them off text-edit that way i can see the photo as I type. I also didn't do them so late at night. I just forgot about them when I went out and thought of them again now. I don't know why I'm explaining this...
I was randomly looking through photos on flickr and I starting thinking about shoes (cause I mean what girl doesn't right?) and so I typed in "Louboutin" cause Louboutin shoes are really really really awesome...most the time. And anyhow, to make a long story short (kind of) I saw this photo (but all cropped so it looked like the person did it herself. But I being the genius that I am was realized that it looked like a scanned image so I went online searching and found this.
So obviously this photo is not good quality, but I think it brings to light an important part of photography - ads. I mean when we go through photographs on flickr or online, we rarely think of the application of the photographs, but in this case, the photograph itself was but a part of a much larger picture - literally.
And this photo is really quite amazing, and it really is an awesome ad for Louboutin shoes, or the Louboutin manicure I suppose although in a sense it's not meant to be (that is, if you think that magazine's aren't completely influenced by how companies and corporations pay them to say nice things about their products).
Anyhow this photograph is amazing in its simplicity. It's made up of three colors, nude, black and white. The red is obviously the emphasis, and it's also the defining color in this photograph. I mean, if not all Louboutins had red bottoms, then the manicure wouldn't be a Louboutin manicure, it would just be an odd manicure, with nothing to associate it with. Also, the textures in the photograph are really quite wonderful. I mean its so sleek. The satin of the shoe is very slick, while the nails are glossy as well. Even the skin is so smooth I see no wrinkles (which is incredibly deceptive). Anyhow, I thought this would be a nice contribution to the blog posts.
