I think this picture is one of the best examples of contrast I have ever seen. The bright yellow is really obvious against the black background and the green bud also really stands out against the yellow petals. The flower almost makes you feel like you are miniature in comparison to the flower.I also think the black things in between the yellow and the green is really important compositionally as they provide relief from the bright things in the flower. Its almost like a sandwich of dark, bright, dark, bright.
